Hear Ted Cullinan on our website and at the RA

by

I’m going along to the Royal Academy on Monday (October 29th) to hear Ted Cullinan talk about his work–looking forward to it.   Ted has lectured here for us in the past, and has been really good, and back in 2008, when we were told that there might be plans to change his wonderful Fountains Abbey Visitor Centre, I met him there and recorded him talking about it.  His own description of that fascinating, very intricate building,  and his comments about its potential to change and expand to meet growing visitor numbers, can be listened to via our web site  here.    The details of the talk are  here , and as he is a Royal Academician they also have a biog of him here .  He is a really interesting architect, and probably a future C20 Monograph subject (anyone out there working on him already?).

Looking forward to this, too… “Scroope”, the Cambridge Architecture Journal in our summer 2013 issue are publishing a delightful anecdotal piece by Ted reminiscing about life at the Cambridge school, illustrated with some of his wonderful sketches.
