Listed for its detailing and for its combination of the modern and the traditional, Wallington Town Hall is far from typical of the neo-Georgian civic buildings of the inter-war period. Completed in 1936 as part of a larger civic setting which included formal gardens and a library building to the rear of the Town Hall, Wallington is half Swedish Modern and half Neo-Georgian, with some deco touches. We are pleased about this listing because the owners had submitted an unsympathetic scheme to alter and extend the building
