Newport & Cardiff
Friday 20 June–Sunday 22 June (postponed - dates to be rearranged)

Details of this trip, organized jointly with Docomomo have yet to be finalized but the event will concentrate mostly on buildings which are either threatened or likely to be shortly. In Newport we plan to visit Bettws School, Newport (Evans & Shalev, 1973), recently turned down for listing and Christchurch by George Pace. We will visit Llandaff Cathedral (George Pace, post-war), the chapel at St Michael’s College, Llandaff, also by George Pace and BBC Wales, Llandaff (Dale Owens, Percy Thomas).

West of Cardiff the plan is to see, amongst other things, Sully Sanatorium (inter-war: recently converted & extended as private apartments and Coychurch crematorium (Fry Drew Knight & Creamer) which is probably the best crematorium in the UK, with great landscaping.
