Return to Notting Hill
Saturday 9 August, 10.30am

Following on from Ian McInnes and Tony Stokoe’s walk around the west part of Notting Hill and Holland Park in February, they will have another exploration of this area, taking in the varied development either side of Ladbroke Grove and Notting Hill Gate. This walk will include a late 30s block by Maxwell Fry and some good 50s houses inserted into the mid nineteenth century crescents that form the Ladbroke Estate. We will finish the walk with a tour to the south of The Gate and Holland Park Avenue, viewing some work by Raymond Erith and even the former home of Dusty Springfield! At the time of writing no access is confirmed but we hope to finish with refreshments at an interesting house just to the north of Kensington Town Hall. Lunch may be taken at one of the many café’s or bars in Notting Hill Gate.

Meet: outside WH Smith opposite the northern exit to Notting Hill Gate Underground Station.
Cost: Members only, £15
