Seal in South Devon
Friday 5–Sunday 7 September

This weekend will concentrate on looking at the buildings of Mervyn Seal and some other South Devon gems. Primarlily, we aim to visit three or possibly four of Mervyn Seal’s Butterfly Houses houses in the Torbay area. As members will know from the last C20 magazine, Seal was a prolific architect in the area—we also aim to visit his first development in the area, Marina Park in Brixham, which also contains some early individual houses. We also hope to see some work by Stan Bolt in the local area, including a particularly fine house in Salcombe. Time permitting we may also visit Coleton Fishacre a wonderful Arts and Crafts house with Art Deco interior, belonging to the National Trust.
