You can help the Society further by completing a Gift Aid Declaration. A Declaration can be made retrospectively to 6 April 2001 and (unlike the old covenant system) it doesn't commit you to making any donations in the future.
If you are a UK tax payer please consider making a Declaration in favour of the Society. The Society will be able to claim back 25p tax for each £1 you have donated. (Membership subscriptions can be treated as Gift Aid donations). The Government will pay to the charity an additional 3p on every £1 you give between 6 April 2008 and 5 April 2011. This transitional relief for the charity does not affect your personal tax position.
If you are a higher rate tax payer you must include all your GiftAid donations on your Self Assessment tax return if you want to receive the additional tax relief due to you.
Completed Declarations should be sent to:
A Gift Aid declaration is incorporated into the membership form. This form should be used if you are already a member or if you are making a donation to the Society which is not a membership subscription.
To download a Gift Aid Declaration form you will need Adobe Acrobat - you can get it by clicking here. When you have downloaded the form you can print it out by clicking on the printer icon on the Acrobat toolbar.
